Preparation
- Cut the pork into bite-sized pieces, drizzle with the marinade of schnapps, soy sauce, and salt, and let it marinate for a few hours.
- For the batter, mix the egg yolk, sugar, beer, oil, flour, and nutmeg until smooth and fold in the beaten egg white.
- For the sauce, clean and chop the onion, bell pepper, and carrots. Sauté in peanut oil, add honey and broth, bring to a boil. Stir in soy sauce, lemon juice, and ginger, and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add pearl onions and nuts, simmer for another 10 minutes. Thicken with cold water and cornstarch mixture.
- Dip the meat in the batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Serve the meat with the sauce.
