Pork stew

Ingredients for 4 portions

600 g Pork shoulder
80 g Bacon (cubed)
50 g Lard or oil
500 g Onion
2 Tbsp Sweet paprika powder
2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Ground caraway
2 Pcs Garlic cloves
4 Pcs Tomatoes

Preparation

  1. Peel and finely chop the onion. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces. Sauté the bacon in hot fat, add the onions and roast until golden brown.
  2. Remove the pot from the heat, sprinkle with paprika, deglaze with some water, add the meat, season with salt, caraway, and crushed garlic, and simmer until everything is tender.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes 20 minutes before the meat is cooked. The juice should be cooked down to a creamy sauce at the end.
