800 | g | Pork loin roast |
1 | piece | Red bell pepper, diced |
200 | g | Mushrooms, cleaned and halved |
3 | tbsp | Tomato paste |
125 | ml | Olive oil |
3 | tbsp | Gyro spice |
100 | ml | Metaxa (Brandy) |
125 | ml | Whipping cream |
100 | g | Aged Gouda, grated |
3 | tbsp | Olive oil for frying |
1 | Pinch | Salt |
Preparation
- For the Gyros from the oven with Metaxa, shred the pork tenderloin, mix olive oil with Gyros seasoning and mix into the shredded meat and let marinate for about 1 hour.
- Clean and halve the mushrooms and fry in hot oil for about 3 minutes, then remove from the pan.
- Add the Gyros meat and bell pepper to the frying fat and fry for about 8 minutes.
- Mix Metaxa and tomato paste, pour over the meat and bring to a boil once, season with salt.
- Stir in cream and cook briefly.
- Transfer everything to a baking dish, sprinkle with cheese and bake in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve with rice or flatbread.
