Gyros

Ingredients for 4 portions

1 kg Pork
125 ml Olive oil
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Thyme
1 tsp Rosemary
1 tsp Chopped parsley
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
1 pinch Paprika powder
1 pinch Cayenne pepper
1 piece Garlic clove
1 pinch Freshly grated pepper
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 piece Onion

Preparation

  1. Peel the garlic clove and crush it very finely with a knife. Prepare a marinade from the oil and whole spices.
  2. Cut the meat into strips and place it in the marinade, mix well. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
  3. Place the marinated meat along with the marinade in a hot pan and fry on all sides until browned. Peel and quarter the onion, then slice it. Serve the Gyros on a plate and garnish with the sliced onion.
